Dr Resham Singh Matharu
A qualified medical doctor, Resham Singh has a passion for researching Sikh philosophy and history and is a founding trustee of Bhai Gurdas Educational Trust, a Sikh educational charity. His interest in the writings of Kavi Santokh Singh led to the publication of an English translation of Sri Nanak Prakash co-authored with Jivanpal Singh. As part of this endeavour, he made detailed research on the Janamsakhi paintings at Baba Atal Sahib (Amritsar) as they are closely connected to Sri Nanak Prakash. This ignited his research into the art and architecture of the Sikh tradition and the wider heritage of Panjab. Resham Singh is also a student of Gurbani Sangeet and performs kirtan regularly.
Jasdip Singh Dhillon
A professional book and manuscript conservator based in Oxford, Jasdip Singh also helped to found Pothi Seva, an established charity dedicated to the conservation of books and manuscripts of the Sikh and Gurmukhi tradition. Pothi Seva has helped to establish an approach to conservation which draws on Sikh tradition as well as cutting-edge methods available in the professional field of conservation. Jasdip Singh also has a wider interest in the symbiotic protection of human and natural heritage, with a particular interest in the Panjab region.
Jivanpal Singh Bansal
An exponent of the sampradai tradition of Gurbani exegesis, Jivanpal Singh is a well-established teacher who provides 'santhia' (teaching) centred on Gurbani pronunciation and interpretation to students all around the globe. His knowledge of Sikh history, particularly Sikh intellectual traditions, is essential in enabling Virasati Asthan Seva to research the historical context of each Asthan. To date he has authored several books consisting of translations of historical (Sri Nanak Prakash), religious (Naam Simran Dian Jugtian) and biographical (Gian Kirna) texts associated with the Sikh faith.
Mandeep Singh Kalsi
A software engineer by profession, Mandeep Singh is also an accomplished artist with training in various traditional Indian approaches to drawing and painting. Naturally he has a keen interest in the arts of the Sikhs, be it fresco painting, masonry or even textiles. His ability to combine an artist's eye with technological skills is central to his role in aiding the research and educational work undertaken by Virasati Asthan Seva. He also serves as a trustee of Pothi Seva.
Karun Singh Matharu
Karun has a background in architecture, design and computer science. He is involved in various design and technology aspects of Virasati Asthan Seva.
